David Kilgore served as a Christian school administrator in Nashville, Tennessee prior to joining the staff at Northside. Mr. Kilgore received his Bachelor's degree from Free Will Baptist Bible College in Nashville, Tennessee, and his Master's Degree in Educational Supervision from Trevecca University also in Nashville, Tennessee.

Mr. Kilgore and his wife, Debra, have a son, Clark.

Shelia Nelson, Director of Academic Affairs

Mrs. Sheila Nelson is completing 23 years in education and this current year is her 20th at Northside Christian Academy. She earned her B.S. from Tennessee Temple University and her M.Ed. from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Sheila is married to David Nelson, a history teacher at Northside. They have a son, Taylor, and a daughter, Victoria.

Tim Chavel, Junior High Principal

Mr. Tim Chavel is beginning his twenty-third year in Christian Education, his twentieth year at Northside Christian Academy. Mr. Chavel earned his BS degree in education from Pensacola Christian College, and is a graduate student at Columbia International University.

Mr. Chavel and his wife, Liz, have three children, Carrie, Paul, and Joseph.

Alison Grams, Elementary Principal

Mrs. Grams served as a resource teacher for Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools for three years before joining the staff at Northside. She received her Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Mrs. Grams and her husband, Cary, have three daughters Skylar, Kasey and Kayla.

Greg Thiel, Athletic Director

Mr. Thiel served as an athletic director in Florida prior to joining the staff at NCA. Prior to his work in Christian education, Mr. Thiel served as the head cross country/track and field coach at the University of South Florida, an NCAA Division I university in Tampa, FL.

Mr. Thiel and his wife, Christine, have two daughters, Logan and Sophie.

Jennifer Frye, Preschool Director

Mrs. Jennifer Frye has worked in the field of Early Childhood Education for 10 years. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development from Trinity College and University. Mrs. Frye has also earned her NC Early Childhood Credentials I & II and NC Early Childhood Administrative Credential I.

Mrs. Frye and her husband, Duane, have one son, Corey.
