Child Care & Academy for Early Learning Arts
In the area of Fine Arts and Enrichment, Northside Academy for Early Learning is on the cutting edge!
The preschool offers classes in Music, Art, Library, Computer (with Mrs. Phyllis Lazenby), and Spanish (with Mrs. Mayra Laica) to
the 3K and 4K students each week. All of the 3K and 4K classes attend a different enrichment class every day, where they have lots of FUN!
Library- Library class provides time for the children to have books read to them, use puppets to create their own stories, and participate
in a variety of other things including listening to books on cd and sometimes watching award winning books being brought to life through
Scholastic videos.
Spanish- In Spanish class the children are introduced to the concept of another language. Mrs. Laica uses songs and stories to teach the children
numbers, colors, and other things in the Spanish language.
Art- Children love to be creative! Once per week the 3K and 4K classes attend art where they use a variety of mediums for crafts and free art
while developing their fine motor skills. Children enjoy painting, cutting, gluing, coloring with special crayons and colored pencils, among
other things to create one of a kind works of art for their parents' refrigerators and scrapbooks.
Computer- Our State of the Art Computer lab allows children to point and click their way through fun and educational software. Children participate
in new adventures weekly that help reinforce phonics, numbers, and problem solving skills.
Music- In Music class Mrs. Lazenby introduces the children of the A.E.L. to patterns, rhythms, pitch explorations, and lots of fun songs and games to
help develop their beginning musical skills.
