Graduation Tracks

At Northside Christian Academy, high school students follow one of two diploma tracks for graduation: College Preparatory Track or Advanced College Preparatory Track.  These tracks are designed to meet the academic needs of students of varied performance levels.  Further details and course listings for each track are provided during the time of course registration.

College Preparatory Track:

Students who earn a College Preparatory diploma have met or exceeded the requirements in core subject areas, including 4 college prep math courses, 4 English courses, 4 Bible courses, 3 Social Studies courses, and 3 Science Courses.  In addition, they have taken a minimum of two years of the same foreign language.  They usually exceed the minimum requirements in history, science, or foreign language.  Students in this track work for above average SAT scores, good grades, good class rank, and are involved in extracurricular as well as community service activities.  This track is similar to the advanced college preparatory track except these students may not take as many honors or AP courses.

Advanced College Preparatory Track:

Students in this track take the most rigorous and demanding courses to prepare them for acceptance at selective colleges.  The students in the advanced track build their transcripts with several honors and Advanced Placement courses and typically exceed the minimum credits required for a college prep diploma in math, science, and foreign language.  They work to achieve high SAT scores, excellent grades, high class rank, and are involved in extracurricular as well as community service activities.  Students who earn an Advanced College Prep diploma have takes 2 or more AP courses or at least 1 AP course and a minimum of 2 honors courses.
