Our private middle school’s rich variety of academic, artistic, and athletic programs meets the needs of all students who walk through our doors, and every student is given opportunities to grow, explore, develop and discover.

Growth in Grace

Grades 6th, 7th & 8th are a time of rapid change for every student. Northside’s middle school faculty and staff understand the pressures involved in this crucial life stage and work hard to provide a safe, welcoming, loving environment where your child can grow “in wisdom, stature and in favor with God and man” (Luke 2:52).

Our teachers, staff and administration partner with Christian families in and around Charlotte, NC, to build on the foundation laid at home and to prepare students for the high school experience ahead. Our goal is to educate all of our middle school students in Biblical truth and practical Biblical wisdom for life, while teaching all subjects from a Christian world and life view.

Growth in Knowledge

Our middle school curriculum program integrates a rich understanding of the Biblical text with an age-appropriate, yet rigorous, academic curriculum. Our teachers are our “Living Curriculum,” integrating faith and learning throughout the entire classroom experience. They are also nurturing, pouring their time, experience and knowledge into each student and across all ability levels.

All middle school students take Bible, English, history, math and science, and may take electives in art, band, choral music, computer, creative writing, foreign language and speech/drama.

Growth in Strength

Northside nurtures the “whole child” – soul, mind and body. Because of our commitment to developing students of strength in all areas, we encourage all middle school students to participate in Physical Education courses, sports and other extracurricular fitness outlets.

Team sports offered to our middle school students include, soccer, volleyball, cheerleading, cross country, basketball, softball, and baseball. Competitive games are played against other private Christian middle schools in and around Charlotte, NC.

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of Northside Christian Academy is to partner with Christian families to provide a Christ-centered, biblically based education in pursuit of excellence.

SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY

Founded in 1961 as a ministry of Northside Baptist Church, Northside Christian Academy draws students from the greater Charlotte area with a current enrollment of approximately 150 in 5K–12. These students benefit from a challenging academic program as well as a variety of co-curricular and extracurricular opportunities.

ACCREDITATIONS

Northside Christian Academy is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International as well as the Greater Charlotte Association of Christian Schools. NCA is accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International and SACS/ AdvancEd. FACULTY Northside Christian Academy employs 25 faculty members, including multiple teachers who hold master’s degrees. The current teacher-student ratio is 1–10.

CURRICULUM

Northside Christian Academy’s curriculum is college preparatory. Students who graduate in both the college predatory diploma track and the advanced college preparatory diploma track meet or exceed entrance requirements for the UNC college system.

ACADEMIC RECOGNITION

NCA Students are regularly recognized for their academic achievements by outside organizations, including Duke University’s TIP program, the National Merit Scholarship, and the College Board. All AP teachers have had course audits approved by the College Board, and all of NCA’s AP courses are recognized and accepted by colleges nationally.

NCA ONLINE

In partnership with Sevenstar Academy, Northside offers a variety of courses online including additional Advanced Placement, foreign language and elective courses.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Northside Christian Academy requires students to participate in community service both corporately through student organizations as well as individually. Students in the College Preparatory Track are required to earn a minimum of 100 hours, while students in the Advanced College Preparatory Track must earn at least 150 hours. The school helps students track their community service hours in high school and recognizes at graduation those students who have accumulated 250 hours or more of community service. The class of 2020 accrued over 4,600 hours of community service.
